How it works: The unique construction of the FLEX® Abdominal Toning Belt features three pre-positioned, medical-grade GelPads, covering the central abdominal muscles and external obliques. Signals from the belt reach out to nerves where they are most concentrated. These nerves branch out to reach all the abdominal muscles (not just those under the pads) causing them to relax and contract naturally, exercising all the muscles at the same time.
SLENDERTONE stimulates the nerves that work the body’s muscles. The result is strong, deep, yet comfortable, contractions that, over time, train your muscles to be firmer and stronger. Just like doing sit-ups or leg lifts, but without the hard work!
EMS is a gentle therapy that is safe for home use. The SLENDERTONE range carries the CE symbol and also conforms to the requirements of the Medical Device Directive (93/42/EEC).

All of the Slendertone products use EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) technology. This works by directing your nerves to gently and safely contract and relax your muscles, similar to exercise.
When you first put on the product and turn it on, you are at the lowest setting. As you increase the intensity, the sensation goes from a tingly feel, to a distinct muscle contraction and release. These feelings will alternate.
It feels like you are tightening/flexing and then releasing/relaxing your muscles. This is good if you can feel the Slendertone Sensation, you know your muscles are working. It is very important to strive for this distinct feeling, to ensure that you get a full workout and the tone that you are looking for!
As you advance, your muscles will get stronger and firmer, and you will get accustomed to the feel of EMS muscle conditioning. This sensation is powerful enough to recruit most of the muscle fibers in the muscle region, yet comfortable enough to have a conversation while using it. Be sure to periodically increase the intensity to always feel the Slendertone Sensation!

- Take a picture (day 1) front, side and back. Write down what you see
- Write down what you want to be and what you want to achieve, set weekly goals and a six week goal
- Keep a food diary
- Stay focused and positive, share goals. Support helps you to stay on track
- Eat slowly
- Exfoliate 2-3 times per week
- Maintain correct posture at all times
- Perform your household jobs with a stop watch and try and do a little quicker than normal
- Perform mild exercises to a TV program of your choice
- Time a brisk walk/jog route. Aim to complete in the same time or better each time.
Toning Tips
- You will feel a sensation when the muscles are being contracted and relaxed. This is good because it means that your muscles are being worked. As you continue to exercise with the products, you will not only become stronger and the sensation will feel lessened.
Remember, five toning sessions every week for the first six weeks! For maintenance - 3 times a week - If you miss a day, don’t worry, just be sure to do a session the day after
- Use the highest toning intensity you can - there are 99 levels - the more you push yourself, the better the results you will see!
- For the best workout, increase the toning every five minutes during a session e.g. first five minutes level 50, last five minutes level 70
- Use your unit once a day only, extra sessions on the same day don’t mean extra results
- Wipe down your stomach with a towel before each session to remove dead skin and to give the most effective workout
- To continue to get the best workout and maintain results, we recommend you change your pads every 4-6 weeks. At this point they are less effective and the workout will be lower than before
- You can walk and tone with your belt to get a two in work workout, toning + cardio!
- The best location for the pads is, one in the middle over your belly-button, with other pads to the sides between your hip and ribs
- If you are sporty, the best time to do sit-ups is straight after a Slendertone session - this gives even better results!
- It is better that toning sessions be completed before a large meal than after, eat 1-2 hours prior to toning sessions
- Remember to take two rest days each week so that your muscles have time to recover
- Keep a record of your toning intensity to help motivate you to achieve your goals
