Get a golden brown tan without stepping foot in a tanning bed! This award-winning original formula works instantly for a streakless application that lasts 7 to 14 days. The Aloe Vera based lotion is non-greasy and quick drying, with a relaxing aromatic scent. 8 oz.
How to Apply
Step 1:
A.M. The day you begin your tan, shower or bathe using the Body Polisher in your hand or wash cloth to remove excess dull dry skin, shave if necessary. Apply Body Moisturizer over entire body after shower or bath.
Step 2:
P.M. Just before bed, apply Body Moisturizer to dry areas such as feet, ankles, knees, hands, elbows and hairline. This equalizes skin porosity and helps keep palms from staining.
Step 3:
You may choose to wear Latex (tight fitting) gloves to protect the hands. Smooth Self-tan evenly over body and face, rubbing in slightly, leaving it in a moist condition. Allow it to absorb into skin. Over rubbing will result in wiping off your tan.
For Best Results:
Start with feet; work your way up the body. Apply to one body part at a time; apply in each area before moving to the next area. Use Self-Tan Remover on palms or wash your hands with soap and a scrub brush. Lastly, apply Body Moisturizer to hands, then apply a small amount of self-tan to tops of hands. Using both hands, rub tops of hands together to the tips of each finger. This tans the hands without tanning the palms. Allow Self-tan to absorb 10-15 minutes before bedtime. Don’t worry if you look streaky as it dries. This is normal. Color will intensify in 3 hours. Next morning, shower to rinse off excess product. This will eliminate product from rubbing on clothing throughout the day. Moisturize after shower. To achieve a base tan, apply Self-tan 3 nights consecutively. Do not use Body Polisher on the 2nd and 3rd mornings. However, you should still shower, just don’t scrub.
Maintaining Tan
To avoid spotting moisturize daily, preferably in the mornings. Apply Self-tan 2 or 3 times weekly at night. Use the Body Polisher once or twice weekly.
FAQ
Will a St. Tropez tan protect me from the sun?
NO. When using St. Tropez your skin will appear tan, even though it’s not. This is an artificial tan. There is no Sun Protection Factor (SPF) in the Auto-Bronzant, so your skin is still exposed and vulnerable to the sun.
Why isn't there any SPF in Auto-Bronzant Lotion?
Applied correctly, the protection in any sunblock will at most last 12 hours. Since Auto-Bronzant is applied at night, and the effects last for several days, adding SPF would not provide any protection and could be misleading.
How long after the application can I go in water or sweat?
A minimum of three hours is required.
If I swim, will my sunless tan go away?
No sunless tan can stand up to extreme conditions. Long exposure to water will fade your St. Tropez tan. Your outer cells will start to soak up water, which dilutes the effect of the tan. The longer you are in the water, the lighter your tan will get. Using St. Tropez regularly at night allows the tan to saturate the skin better. The tan will then hold up longer in water. Be sure to moisturize every day as this helps maintain the tan.
Can pregnant or nursing mothers use the St. Tropez sunless tanner?
The concern some doctors have is over whether or not the active ingredient (DHA) is able to enter the blood stream, indications being that it cannot. DHA only penetrates the top 3 layers of the skin. However, if the client is still concerned they should consult their physician first. FYI: DHA has been used as a cosmetic ingredient in the United States since 1960 and no problems have ever been reported concerning DHA penetrating the skin or causing problems during pregnancy.
Will St. Tropez stain my pajamas or sheets?
The Auto-Bronzant will stain some fabrics. For example: nylon, silk, wool and polyester. However, a good soaking in water will usually lift the Auto-Bronzant from the fabric. All other materials are completely safe. If the Auto-Bronzant rubs off on any other fabric it will simply wash out.
Will St. Tropez stain my clothes?
Make sure that you apply Auto-Bronzant at night and shower off the excess in the morning, before you get dressed. This will prevent the Auto-Bronzant from getting on your clothes. If you happen to apply the Auto-Bronzant during the day, please be aware that it will stain nylon, silk, wool and polyester.
Why do I need a Body Polisher– why can’t I use a loofa?
Using the Body Polisher ensures smoother softer skin for the Auto-Bronzant application, resulting in an even and longer lasting tan. If you do not use Body Polisher you will be tanning skin that is about to fall off and your tan will quickly disappear. Loofas do not conform to the body and will result in an uneven exfoliation creating a "zebra" look to the self-tan.
Should I shave before or after the St. Tropez application?
Shaving is a form of exfoliation so you should shave before the application. Shaving after will take off some of your tan, so shave before.
If I use St. Tropez under my arms should I remove any deodorant?
Yes. For the best result remove deodorant and moisturize under the arm. Then apply a small amount of self-tanner. Wait 3 hours to reapply deodorant. It may turn green when deodorant is reapplied. If so, the green will rinse off in the shower.
I like my St. Tropez tan but I want it darker.
St. Tropez recommends that the Auto-Bronzant be applied at night to receive the maximum color. The Auto-Bronzant needs a minimum of 3 hours to deposit on the skin. However, the longer it is left on the darker it will get. If you want it darker still, reapply 3 nights consecutively.
I like my St. Tropez tan just the way it is– how do I keep it?
Make sure you moisturize every day. For optimum results use the St. Tropez Body Moisturizer. The L-Tyrosine will activate your skin’s melanin thereby creating a longer lasting tan. To keep your St. Tropez tan at the desired shade, reapply once or twice a week according to your liking.
Should I be scared if my tan looks streaky as it’s drying?
NO. Don’t worry if you look streaky as it’s drying. This is normal. As long as you rubbed it to a creamy consistency, have left it moist and have covered all the areas you wish to be tan, you will be fine! The Auto-Bronzant is drying that is all. Resist your temptation to rub it in or smooth it out. Once it is rinsed or buffed (in a spa setting) off it will be beautiful.
