What is the Clarisonic Sonic Skin Cleansing System?
Clarisonic® is an innovative Sonic Skin Cleansing System that uses a sonic frequency to cleanse the skin. It was developed by a team led by the primary inventor of the Sonicare® toothbrush.
Sonicare is a registered trademark of Philips Oral Healthcare Inc., which is not affiliated with PBL or Clarisonic.

Why is it unique?
Clarisonic® is the latest innovation in advanced skin care. It’s more effective than traditional superficial cleansing, yet gentle on your skin. It not only cleanses the skin, but also helps reduce dry patches, blemishes, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

What are the benefits of the Clarisonic sonic cleansing?

  • 6 times more makeup removal
  • Leaves skin feeling and looking younger and smoother
  • Cleanses so well that products absorb better
  • Gentle enough for twice daily use

Has it been dermatologist tested?
Yes, and it is being recommended by and used to augment in-office treatments by leading skin care professionals (dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons, estheticians).
How is this different from a microdermabrasion product?

Microdermabrasion products abrade the skin and are not meant for daily use. Clarisonic uses sonic oscillation and the skin’s natural elasticity to clean gently, deeply and thoroughly, and can be used twice daily.

Which power setting and brush head should I use for my skin type?

The Clarisonic is designed for use with most skin types. Your skin is constantly changing, and due to its dynamic nature, you may want to use different power levels, brush heads and a shorter or longer duration. The Clarisonic Classic in White and Pink is packaged with the sensitive brush head (white plastic base) installed. For ultra-sensitive or delicate skin, we offer the delicate brush head (blue plastic base), and we also have normal brush heads (gray plastic base) for normal skin types.

We recommend that you first use your Clarisonic with the sensitive brush head at the low power level for a one-minute duration (this is the factory setting). Then you can customize it for your skin type: normal, sensitive or delicate brush head; normal or low power setting; one- or two-minute duration. View our User Guides for more information on a specific model.

How do I adjust the power level?
The Clarisonic has two power levels: normal and low. Power level is indicated both audibly and visually. When the Clarisonic is turned on at normal power, there are three ascending beeps and the yellow light is illuminated. At low power, there are three descending beeps and the yellow light is turned off.

To toggle between the settings, hold the power button down for three seconds continuously when turning on the Clarisonic. Listen for the change in beeps. The Clarisonic will operate at this power setting until you change it.

How do I adjust the duration time?
The Clarisonic features a proprietary one-minute T-Timer™ that beeps and pauses momentarily to indicate it is time to move to another part of your face. The Clarisonic is factory set with a one-minute duration. To change the cleansing duration, turn your Clarisonic on and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. At around three seconds, you will hear three tones (related to the power level), and then you will hear beep tones relating to the optional cleansing and interval beeps. Refer to the appropriate User Guide for more information.

Note: changing the duration time resets the power level.

Can I share brush heads?
It is recommended that you do not share a brush head with another individual. Do not share brushes if you or any other Clarisonic user have any skin conditions.

How do I clean my Clarisonic?
Once a week, wash the brush head and the handle separately using warm soapy water to remove any residue buildup. The handle is sealed and fully waterproof. Never attempt to open the brush handle for any reason. To dry the brush after use, rub the brush head against a towel for 5-10 seconds while the Clarisonic is powered on. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals to clean any part of the Clarisonic. Do not put any part of the Clarisonic in a dishwasher.

Unplug the charging cradle before you clean it. After unplugging the cradle, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the cradle in water.

How often should I charge my Clarisonic?
Charge your Clarisonic overnight after every 30 minutes of use. For example, if you use the brush once a day, you only need to charge it overnight every 30 days. If you use it twice a day, charge it overnight once every two weeks. If the Clarisonic is used for 30 or more minutes without being charged, the brush handle will beep immediately following the brushing cycle to alert you to place it in the cradle for charging.

How often should I replace the brush head?
The Clarisonic brush heads should be replaced every 3-4 months as the bristles become fatigued and less effective over time.

Can I use the Clarisonic if I have a pacemaker?
Clarisonic is believed to be safe for use with many common pacemakers. If you have any questions, consult your physician or pacemaker manufacturer prior to use.
